Our training classes include useful learning for all wastewater professionals, including but not limited to: operators, lab techs, engineers, maintenance techs, etc. Each class is designed to do a deep dive into that course topic and truly broaden your knowledge.
Classes are instructed by veteran industry professionals with a wealth of knowledge and personal experience. Some classes may have the opportunity to supplement classroom learning with a brief tour of the facility. Locations are available throughout Michigan.
The Michigan Water Academy ® is designed to complement existing Section training and to supplement state licensure, taking the learner beyond regulatory requirements, helping him/her to demonstrate both skill and judgement. It is the hope that the Academy® can serve as a career progression pathway that helps water professionals to advance within their organization and reach their long-term career goals.
The Water Resources Division (WRD) protects and monitors Michigan's waters by establishing water quality standards, assessing the health of aquatic communities, issuing permits to regulate wastewater dischargers, and overseeing aquatic invasive species concerns and water withdrawals.
WRD's mission: Make Michigan’s waters safe and clean for recreating, fishing, drinking, and healthy aquatic ecosystems.
