The MWEA partners with the Michigan Science Teachers Association to identify those teachers who have a great program and are in need of financial assistance to execute a project within a curriculum focused on water environment issues. One teacher will be selected.
The Michigan DNR Salmon in the Classroom program helps hundreds of third through 12th grade classrooms across the state to raise, learn from and release young Chinook salmon in approved waterways. Over 30,000 students learn to appreciate these great natural resources each year.

The Michigan Water Stewardship Program (MWSP) is a grant funded program made possible by the state of Michigan’s Groundwater/Freshwater fund, which is supported by fees on pesticides and fertilizers. MWSP is a partnership of organizations that provide educational assistance to Michigan’s residents to identify and reduce contamination risks to water and other natural resources. The program encourages individuals to take voluntary proactive steps to protect Michigan’s water quality.
Project WET is dedicated to advancing water education for people of all ages. This webpage contains a suite of free and discounted resources that educators, parents, and children can use to learn about water while meeting standards in math, language arts, science, and social studies.
